The Parents Village is a partnership between two co-founders – Kirsty Levin (Psychologist) and Lana Sussman (Clinical Social Worker), located in Sydney Australia with ABN 42960180311, and can be contacted via email on enquiries@theparentsvillage.com.au. These terms govern your use of this site, and your access to our products and services as provided by The Parents Village.

Acceptance of terms

1. By accessing, downloading or using the site and the products and services offered on our site, you agree to be bound by these Terms, which you acknowledge that you have read and understood.
2. We may change all or part of these terms at any time. If we do, the new terms and conditions will be posted on this Site. Your continued use of the Site will constitute your acceptance of any changes. If you object to any changes to the Terms, your only remedy is to immediately discontinue your use of the products and/or services.

General Disclaimer

1. All services and products at The Parents Village are intended for general education, support and information purposes only. Nothing on this Site or any of the content or advice provided to you by us during our provision of the products and/or services, purports to offer legal, medical, financial or other professional advice or services.
2. The Parents Village assumes no liability or responsibility for any of your activities or decisions in relation to any of our products, services, or our site. Claims for damages of any kind are excluded. Always seek your own medical, health or professional advice for your particular situation.

Product and Service Registration and Delivery

1. Registrations for group programs and educational workshops are carried out via either a completed registration form online, OR via direct email and/or phone call, followed by upfront payment of the program fee.
2. Bookings for therapeutic counselling services (individuals, couples, or children) and career coaching consultations (individual) are carried out via direct email, phone call or online booking, followed by service delivery and immediate payment of fees at the completion of the session.

Number of Participants – Group Programs

Only a restricted number of participants can be accepted for each group session/program. Confirmation of place allocation is decided according to the order in which registrations are received (“first come first served”).

In the event that a group program is listed as “out of stock” on the online registration/booking form – the program is fully allocated.

Substitutions and Guest Speakers – Group Programs

The Parents Village may substitute facilitators or introduce guest speakers into group workshops or programs at late notice, provided that those facilitators or guest speakers are also fully informed, qualified, and trained.

Credit Card Security

Online credit card transactions are processed via third party PCI Compliant providers called Stripe or Square.

Fees, Refunds and Cancellations – Programs and Workshops

1. Full program fees are to be paid prior to the commencement of group programs and workshops, to The Parents Village, either via credit/debit card or via direct deposit to the appropriate bank account. Single weekly postnatal group sessions are not for sale.
2. Group sessions or workshops cancelled due to facilitator sickness or unforeseen circumstances will be rescheduled where possible. The Parents Village reserves the right to cancel programs in case of low participation.
3. We do not refund group programs or workshops (individual or group) for change of mind. If you are not 100% satisfied with your experience after completing the entire program, we will happily review case by case. We put our money where our mouth is because enough parents have already told us it is relevant and effective.

Fees, Refunds and Cancellations – Therapeutic and Career Coaching Services

1. The Parents Village goal is to provide quality group therapeutic support services, in a timely fashion. Please be courteous and notify us by phone or email if you are unable to attend at least 2 days/48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. We will then be able to allocate this consultation time slot to someone else.
2. The Parents Village will provide invoices to the Client setting out the Fees for the Services (“Services” is defined below). Payment must be made within 7 days of receipt of invoice. Payment may be made via Cash on Delivery, Credit Card transaction (via Square or Stripe), or direct Bank Transfer to The Parents Village, BSB: 062 198, Account Number: 10832809.
3. Any Counselling and Career Coaching Services cancelled with less than 24 hours notice by the client may attract a cancellation fee. The current no-show or late cancellation/reschedule fee is $50. If your no-show or late cancellation/reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice is the result of an unforeseen emergency or illness you may request that this fee be waived.

Restrictions on Use

This site is provided solely for non-commercial, personal use, and/or so that you may learn about our organization and the services we provide. You may not use this site for any other purpose, including any commercial purpose, without The Parents Village’s express prior written consent. For example, you may not (and may not authorise any other party to) (i) co-brand this site, or (ii) frame this site, or (iii) hyperlink to this site, without the express prior written permission of an authorised representative of our Company. For purposes of these Terms and Conditions, “co-branding” means to display a name, logo, trademark, or other means of attribution or identification of any party in such a manner as is reasonably likely to give a user the impression that such other party has the right to display, publish, or distribute this site or Content accessible within this site. You agree to cooperate with The Parents Village in causing any unauthorised co-branding, framing or hyper-linking immediately to cease.

Proprietary Information and Intellectual Property

The Parents Village owns the intellectual property in our site content and all materials created for programs, workshops and clients, unless otherwise agreed.  Intellectual property includes rights to:

• Any trade mark, patent, design, copyright or geographical indication; and
• Any other forms of protection of a similar nature or having equivalent or similar effect to any of them which may subsist anywhere in the world.
• Any concepts, data, techniques, works of authorship, material or documents used, produced, adapted/modified as part of any services or made available by The Parents Village to the Client.

Confidentiality, Copyrights and Dissemination

The content and materials belonging to The Parents Village may not be copied, distributed, republished, uploaded, posted, or transmitted in any way without the prior written consent of The Parents Village, or unless authorised in writing elsewhere on our site, except that you may print out a copy of the Content solely for your personal use. You are prohibited from using any of the marks or logos appearing throughout the site without the express written permission of The Parents Village.

This site and its content, along with program materials are protected by Australian and/or foreign copyright laws and belong to The Parents Village or its partners, affiliates, contributors or third parties. The copyrights for the content are owned by The Parents Village or other copyright owners who have authorised their use on this site. You may download and reprint content or materials for non-commercial, non-public, personal use only. You may not manipulate or alter in any way images or other content on the site.

You agree that the Indemnified Parties will have no liability in connection with any such breach or unauthorised use, and you agree to indemnify any and all resulting loss, damages, judgments, awards, costs, expenses, and attorney’s fees of the Indemnified Parties in connection therewith. You will also indemnify and hold the Indemnified Parties harmless from and against any claims brought by third parties arising out of your use of the information accessed from this site.

DEFINITIONS

Fees

The amount to be paid by the Principal to the Provider in respect of the Services calculated in accordance with any Service Order/Proposal.

Intellectual Property

1. Patents, trademarks, service marks, rights in content and designs, trade names, copyrights and topography rights, in each case whether registered or not, and any applications for registration of any of them;
2. Rights under licenses and consents in relation to any of them; and
3. Other forms of protection of a similar nature or having equivalent or similar effect to any of them which may subsist anywhere in the world.

Services

The services to be performed by the Provider (The Parents Village) as set out in any Service Order/Proposal issued in accordance with this agreement together with any services necessarily incidental to them.
